This page is maintained by My Best Solutions Limited (trading as Couples Digital Vault) to explain how cookies and similar technologies are used on couplesdigitalvault.com and inside the vault app.

The short version

We only set non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing) after you click Accept all on our cookie banner — or opt in via Manage preferences. If you click Reject non-essential, we don't load Google Tag Manager or any analytics or marketing scripts at all. The site continues to work normally.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use closely related technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, and browser cache — which behave similarly. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.

Our cookie categories

1. Essential (always on)

Required for the site to work. These do not require consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

• Authentication — signs you in and keeps your session active (set by our auth provider, first-party).
• Security tokens — CSRF and session integrity.
• Consent record —cdv-cookie-consent-v1in localStorage stores your cookie choice so we don't ask again on every page.
• UI preferences — remembering dismissed prompts, expanded panels, and date-format choice.

2. Analytics (opt-in)

Anonymous usage statistics so we can see which pages help and which confuse. Loaded through Google Tag Manager (GTM) only after you consent.

• Google Tag Manager (container ID GTM-ML9BL55P) — loads Google Analytics and related measurement tags.
• Google Analytics — pageviews, session duration, device type, referrer. IP addresses are truncated.

If you reject analytics, GTM is never inserted into the page and no Google cookies are set.

3. Marketing (opt-in)

Helps us measure whether ads and campaigns reach people who'd genuinely like the vault. Loaded through GTM only after you consent.

• Conversion measurement tags for advertising channels we use from time to time.
• Attribution cookies set by those advertising networks.

Third parties we integrate with

Some interactions bring in cookies from third parties. Their own cookie policies apply and are linked below:

• Stripe — set only when you visit the checkout page, for fraud prevention. See stripe.com/en-gb/privacy.
• Google — analytics/marketing tags, loaded only after consent. See policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

Legal basis

Under the UK PECR and UK GDPR, essential cookies are set on the basis of legitimate interest in providing the service you asked for. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only with your explicit consent, which you give via our cookie banner.

Change your mind

You can also clear cookies via your browser settings at any time. Doing so will re-prompt our banner the next time you visit.
